The Magepunk Sparkswitch knife is a steampunk style game balisong from Valorant.
I pretty like the steampink design of this knife, so I have made the metal version replica of it once it was released in 2023.
And there are also some cheap metal replicas of it.
Since there are some scammers use my picture to sell the cheap replicas, I will make some comparsion here to help you know the difference between my version and the cheap one.
1. Size
The Magepunk balisong replica I made is a life-size one, which is 25cm/9.8" in length after unfolding.
The unfolding cheap one is around 20cm/8", which is a mini scale replica.
2. Weight
The Magepunk 3.0 Knife I made is made of zinc alloy. As a balisong trainer, it has a heavier weight than a normal trainer, which is around 5.9oz/167g. But for a display knife prop, the weight is just fine, and it will give you a nice feeling of touch.
The mini one is made of zinc alloy too, the weight is lighter because of the weight, which is around 3.2Oz.
3. Flipping Ability
The screw I use to make the Magepunk 3.0 knife is customized with prime steel. It's quite durable and it won't easily fall apart. I have added bearings inside the handle of the Magepunk knife to improve the flipping ability.

As for the cheap one, it's very loose because it uses a small cross screw to connect the blade and handles and there are no bearings or spacers between the handles and the blade.
What's worse is they will easily fall apart after you flip it for a while. So you can rarely use it as a trainer.
4. Details
The Magepunk knife I made is a handicraft that is well painted by hand work. It's not perfect but you can see the painting work and polishing work are much better than the cheap ones in every place.
5. Package
I use a carton and sponge bag to pack the Magepunk knife. The carton may not as exquisite as my gift carton, but will still give the product a nice protect. The cheap one use plastic cardbox as the package. This kind of package always got damaged during international delivery.
Those are the main differences between my high-end version of the Magepunk knife replica and the cheap one.
I'm not telling you go ahead and buy my version, you should make the choice accord your buget and interests.
Just keep in mind it's unacceptable if someone is trying to sell the cheap one with my pictures.
